Although this is a good deal. Dabs have a WD 160GB for €61.44 including vat. Postage would be €5 and the warranty would be easier to enforce

is the wd 5400 or 7200??
the link says its both??

Pretty sure it's 5400rpm's.

well spotted.

I dont think it matters. In fact for a laptop drive the 5400 would run cooler. THe 7200 would not have any benifit as the max speed transfer over usb is 25-30MB/s and the latency from USB would be greater than the latency from the drive IMO

For this and other offers, isn't there always the danger that customs will stop it?

I'm always trying to ensure that I stay below the €22 import limit... although from another thread I see that this is likely to increase to €150 in December.
