    Hello.

I was thinking of getting a hedgehog for my back garden. Garden is about 70 meters by 50 meters, and mostly grass but some veggies planted and I have plans for fruit trees etc. I'm living in the country, and the garden is very secure with high fences all round.

I've been thinking of getting a hedgehog for a few reasons. What are the main advantages, and where would I get such an animal? Does it take a lot of looking after?

    Thanks, G23

They're great for eating slugs, apparently.

They can climb walls too, so don't expect him to stay!

If your garden is a good habitat for a hedgehog, then they'll arrive themselves, although a very small hole to allow them to get access through your fence would be required, which of course means you might get unwanted visitors too.
