    Hey guys ,

Hows it going !!! I'm due to arrive home from traveling in a couple of days and after the formalities of drinks and a meet up its down to some serious gaming , First time in 2 years :)

So my Playstation 3 is out dated and GTAIV is out on the PS3 , so I'm looking at buying one. Now I'm wondering what is the cheapest price people have seen for the standalone unit in Ireland , I remember before the Tescos were selling them at 399 with 30% back in vouchers which works out at 279 thats for the 40gb.

Now my girlfriend is going to Hong Kong on her way home and I'm wondering what price should i tell her to pick one up at , if i cant get a good price in Ireland.

So help me come back to reality on what i should be paying and where!!!

    Thanks

    Ste

For the south, Zavvi is your best bet. €400 for the 40GB with any chart game.

Although the 80GB should be coming soon. Maybe when they clear enough of the 40GBs. So depends if you want to wait for a superior model.

Does anyone know anymore about the PAL 80gb model?

Well i traveled from London Gatwick to Dublin and shopped in HMV , with no problem wasnt even asked for my boarding pass etc , also picked up some aftershave and again no problems.

fair enough. that sounds a little odd though, you sure it was duty free? ive often bought very small things and still get asked for my boarding pass.

Yes it sure was duty free , had the high street price on the receipt and the ACTUAL duty free price with the vat(gst) deduction on it as well , which i of course paid.

Harvey Norman are doing the 80gb for 337, or I picked up an 80gb in HMV with infamous and NFS Undercover for 399.

Did you deliberately look up a two year old thread to resurrect it with an advert for pixmania?

Argos up here in newry (Anywhere in the north) for PlayStation 3 Slim(120GB) is £240, no games. Guess you can probably get it cheaper in some other shops up here aswel.
