    Hi,

My last couple of rounds of pictures had intermittant dust in the results. I've cleaned the front and back of the lens (18-135 Nikon) and had a quick look at the sensor and they look clean. The dust is pretty noticable but doesn't appear in all the pictures, I have a few sea/sky shots and the dirt is there in some but not others.

Does that point towards the dust being inside the lens?
If the sensor was dirty would the marks be on every picture?
How much would it be to get a lens cleaned if the dust is inside it?
How do they get the figs into the fig-rolls?

    Thanks,

    Oisin

Not sure about dirt inside the lens but if the dirt is on your sensor it will only show on smaller apertures (bigger f numbers). Do some trials where switch your lens to MF, focus on infinity and take a shot of the blue sky to fill the frame. Depending on the size of the dust you might see some at f11 and more likely f16 or smaller.

If this is the case I'd recommend getting a rocket blower and trying this out before looking into other methods of cleaning. I got a rocket blower recently and it did the job for me.

Thanks Bovril, it looks like it's on the sensor, I ordered one of those rocket blowers so hopefully that'll shift it.
