3 Network N95 8GB Unlocking?

    Anyone tried and been successful in unlocking one of these? After my mates first N95 met the Ubend in his toilet he picked one of these up on 3 but he's 02. Is it possible to unlock them with codes or will they need a hardware hack? Anyone know where this can be done? To the mods, sorry if this is the wrong thread or if I can't discuss it here.

    i have no idea! Like I say this is a friends problem. Maybe it's 3 UK?

    well as my 95-2 was unbranded and unlocked when i bought it (voda's first batch) i'm no expert but when i updated to firmware v20 i had to change the product code to scandinavia (as the firmware was available there first) and run the nokia update software. i'm not sure if i'm allowed to describe the process here, but google can be your friend......

    ...you will lose all the 3 branded software but if you're not interested in it its no great loss.

    If its a normal n95-1 (the silver one) do NOT install the 8gb firmware. it will brick the phone.

    Did you try and ring the provider its locked to ?

    I have had the N95 on O2 and they gave me the unlocking code over the phone, same goes for the N95 8Gb which I have on Vodafone.

    Never asked any questions just told em I wanted it unlocked.
