Does anyone know if their are any grants available if you accept a work placement in the UK. Basically help towards accomodation or is it possible to get campus accomodation in a nearby UK college. Any tips or information would be welcome.

Work placement with what? In college? If you get a grant some costs of 'trips' can be claimed back.

It's a part of a 4 year degree course in DCU. You have to do a 6 month placement in 3rd year. The places being offered by the college are not brilliant, just run of the mill stuff.

Talk to the INTRA co-ordinator for your course whoever it may be.

I doubt it though - unless your local authority people would pay? I know previously from friends who completed INTRA abroad there was no financial support because you're earning as you're working, so you can afford rent. You don't do INTRA for money, you do it for the experience.

Point taken about the experience and not the money ! Will make an appointment with the Intra co-ordinator and see what the story is. Thanks everyone.
