    Hi Guys

    Just a quick question(or ten!)

Recently started work for a new company in the last 3 months as IT Manager,
My old company havent found anyone to manage their IT setup and have asked me if I would be interested in keeping an eye on things.

They are happy to pay me a fixed amount per month, possibly more depending on how much work needs doing.

What is the best way to set this up ?

I have been thinking about going out contracting on my own but I wouldnt know where to even start,If I did go contracting I would only really be dividing myself between 2/3 companies as they would have enough work to keep me busy.

How do you set yourself up as a contractor ?
Are there any pros \ cons when you are setup like this ? ie - mortgages, etc

If I didnt go contracting, what other way would be open to me ?

I know my old company dont like handing over cash every month in case the revenue come looking, and I would prefer to have everything taxed correctly and above board.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

    Rob
