Lost keys to bedrooms

Well I lost the keys to the two bedrooms in my apartment a good while ago, didn't really bother me too much. The problem is I have friends coming down for a session this weekend and I don't want to come back to the gaff at 3.30 and find some f#cker in my bed while I end up sleeping on the floor. Does anyone know if it's possible to get keys cut when you don't have the originals, as in, can they make a key based on the lock itself? Cheers.

Its its a standard internal door key then you can leave a deposit in the likes of Woodies and take away a bunch - there are only a few different types (20 or so).

Or you could bring in the lock but taking the keys away is handy.

I don't get it... how would someone be lying asleep in your bed if you can't open the door... where are you sleeping currently?

Hehe, thanks man, it's a standard internal door key, never knew there were only a few types.

You could ultimately just get the locks changed, but I don't know if a key can be cut based on a lock alone. Would doubt it though.

    The solution.

    • Strip down your bed and lie the mattress against the wall.
    • Write a notice for your bedroom door and stickify.
    • Have a chat with friends telling them they are welcome to use your pad but stay out of your room as there is an 'issue' - while you scratch your crotch incessantly.

    Problem gone.

Take a look at the edge of the lock on the side of the door to see what type of lock it is.

I've never had issues of that kind, but I sure as hell know how out-smart people at will. No trip to woodies required. :pac:

Warn them to stay out of the bed. If they do not heed the warming, kick him in the nuts!

    You'll need the following ingredients:

    1 mars bar.
    1 plastic bag.
    4 pairs of underpants.

    1. Pre-heat a radiator to 'heating is on' temperature.

    2. Chop the mars bar into 4 equal pieces.

    3. Place 1 piece into each pair of cacks

    5. Wrap them all up in the plastic bag and place on the radiator.

    6. After cooking for a few hours, give them a bit of a scrunch, remove from the plasitc bag and place somewhere to cool.

    7. Once cooled, place in various locations on the bed including the pillow.

    Job done.;)

Just nip down to your local hardware store - you can get a replacement lock with 2 keys for about €8-12, and they only take a few mins to change. It'd cost you as much to get a key cut - never mind getting two cut. (those internal keys are much more expensive to get cut than Yale keys).
And you'll have to get it done sometime, if only for the landlords benefit, so you might as well just do it now!
