I've been considering joining the local police department in my city and I was curious to know how some of you overcame any fear or anxiety you had about being hurt or killed on the job. It's a little scary to think that on any given day, you might not come home alive.

Stay away from construction then if you are in Ireland..... You have a greater chance of dying on a building site than pounding the beat :eek:
