Best To Do List - Active Desktop or Internet Homepage?

Like most people I have a To Do List in work written on whatever scrap of paper or little notebook I have. It changes frequently meaning I have to re-write it.

I'm looking for something more efficient. I was thinking some sort of active desktop that I can edit, or maybe even my internet homepage. Something I'll see all the time and can easily edit.

Anyone know of such a thing?
    Thanks

Personally I just use a spreadsheet and strikethrough completed items.

I was using notepad for a bit, but went back to the refill pad, I find it's easier for just jotting down the stuff that pops into my head..

Microsoft OneNote might interest you. It's pretty handy for just firing down bits of info. Think Microsoft have a free trial on their site.

This is what I use and it's brilliant: http://www.rainlendar.net/cms/index.php you can even sync it with a Sony Ericsson phone through using myphoneexplorer :)

Both programs were recommended to me on boards.ie ;)

I've started to use the tasks option of outlook recently and it's working well

I wrote a basic web-based to-do list with bookmark sidebar for myself, as I frequently change workstations and operating systems, so it had to be remote.

I use a combination of a calander spreadsheet that I got off the MS template site for tasks I have to do on particular times and WorkHack (http://workhack.com/) for non time based ToDo's.

I find it works fairly well.
