Following on from last years photo's of a fox, I located the den and have been watching it for the last few nights, today I finally managed to take some pictures. The photo's are "rough" to say the least as they were taken after the sun had set and was pushing the camera at ISO1600 and 1/13 shutter speed by hand. I was about 10 yards (9 meters) away from the den at 300mm lens on the camera. There are 2 openings that I can see and I was expecting to come out the other hole, so I positioned myself for the other "hole" that's why you can see a bloody big briar coming across the shots.

You have to admit, they are bloody cute :)

You'll be better prepared the next time.
    Great potential there.

I can get rid of that briar no problem and bring a tripod, any other ideas ?
They start to come out after the sun sets so for light I'm kinda buggered, unless I can get them to come out earlier

BTW the setting sun shines directly onto the den as well, the good auld "golden hour".

Indeed, just don't tell any of the Tally Ho brigade.
Btw I've seen a Fox in the grounds of Saint Vincent's Hospital on Richmond road in Dublin 3 b4. :)

Well a tripod would make a big difference.
I wouldn't go cutting too much away though.
Don't want to go upsetting their den.

I can use a long tree lopper to just snap off the briar at the top, that's about it and I can do it from a place where they know we walk on, so no problems there.

Deadly! It's always been a wish of mine to get shots of baby foxes (there must be a name for them). Good luck on your adventure :).

Wow! That's incredible, you're very lucky. Are you rural? Was just checking the other Fox shots on your Flickr, if you can get more of the same this time you're sorted.
