Padre Pio Exhumed

I didn't know that this was happening to mark the fortieth anniversary of his death and I was shocked when I saw his body being put on public display last week. I though; this can’t be proper or right.
His family were strongly opposed to the exhumation and display of saint’s body. What do people think? It looks like a bit of a tourism stunt to me. I wonder would Padre Pio himself agree. Maybe it is a good thing?

Perhaps some of the Catholic posters can make a point for it?? I cant understand it. As a Christian I find it baffling that people flock to see and to pray to a dead body.

It is pagan rituals like digging up a dead body and having it on public display that differentiates between the counterfeit Church and the true Christian church. No doubt money will be made out of it.

Well to be fair his body isn't really on show. Apparently a priest was on the radio saying his body was incorrupt and decay hasn't touched Padre Pio's holy body. Well Father, that would be because it is a silicon mask they have placed over his naturally decayed corpse. You can't actually see his real body.

This whole thing is a con intended to fool devout Catholics on two counts, first they think they are getting to see the remains of Padre Pio when in fact they are waiting for hours to see the equivalent of a Madam Tussaud's waxwork model, and secondly they are being fooled into thinking that God has miraculously preserved his body when in fact the real body is in the same condition of anyone elses after the same length of time. Come to think of it this whole sham is actually quite fitting for the man.

From what I have read about it in the media it is clear that the body was badly decomposed as you would expect and that a team have been working to reconstruct his face for the last few weeks. Therefore I do not agree that they are claiming that his body has not decomposed.

I wonder how well they inform the public that they do not actually get to see the remains of Padre Pio? Certainly the priest on the radio was misled becase he believed it to be the genuine body. If the church does not make it clear then I would say they are indeed misleading the public.

Yes I am. The founder of the Catholic University in Rome described Padre Pio as "an ignorant and self-mutilating psychopath who exploited people's credulity." A local pharmacist reported that he bought carbonic acid and asked for the purchase to be kept secret. I think he was a man with mental issues who misled millions and the Catholic Church are responsible for promoting him as proof of God, forcing him to continue his mutilation instead of getting him the proper help that he needed.

Of course hes a hoax and a dirty lie of the Devil. Satan will use any means possible to deceive people from the word of God. There is absolutley no mention at all of this man in scripture. How do you know the bible wasn't created or altered by the devil to mislead people into following corrupt cults and subjugating themselves to false institutions?
