Hey there.. i recently got myself an Iphone from Ebay and i love my new gadget... it is everything apple says and more.. I'm now on the quest to find a cover/protector that keeps my Iphone safe and unharmed! I have done only a small bit of research and what i have found are those very ugly chunky skins

    http://www.expansys.ie/p.aspx?i=150901

Has any other iphone user managed to find one that is sleek and as sexy as the iphone itself! Or how have people got on with their case purchases - any i should avoid?

    All recommendations welcome..

    Cheers

ps - very new to boards!

Would have to recommend the invisible shield... I have one for my iphone and it has saved my screen loads of times... It wont protect the iphone from a big fall but will save it from any scratches... They come with a lifetime warranty too!

Try the incase slider. I bought one in white and its pretty good. Gives protection and looks pretty good too. The bottom slides off allowing it to be docked.

I don't use a case myself, but make sure that you research it well because I've seen loads of complaints about cases that scratch the phone and ones that block the proximity sensor on the top. Never seen any complaints about the Invisible Shield, though.

I'll second this. I have been using these guys for years. Have even used on the face of watches.

It takes a long time to fit this "skin" but take your time and it is almost invisible. If it begins to wear over time keep all the pieces and they will replace it without question.

Not the easiest to get onto the iPhone. Lots of places that you have to get it to stretch a bit and hold for a while till it sticks. 8 pieces in total. They supply a liquid spray that helps. I found however that I needed a few attempts to get it right so I had to make up a weak soap and water solution because I ran out.

It is very fexible so easy to get the bubbles out.

If you get it wrong you can remove it and try again within an hour I think.

Took me about 1 hour to get it right to be honest.

Take your time. Get your hands very clean. Clean the area around you. Clean the phone well and don't touch the sticky side with dry hands.

I think it is worth it though. I is the most non invasive cover around.

I got one for my iPod touch, and found it very fiddly to put on. Never got it completely right, but eventually got the bubbles out. I would have preferred if it was a little firmer, which would make it a lot easier to position.

Had one on a 5g ipod and was great. the one on the touch was bad. The edges peeled up and made it look terrible and the corners on the back picked up dirt. This was put on perfectly too. So I dont know. I think they are great though and give some friction to the phone but i changed for an incase slider this time around and its pretty nice.

If you mean this one, I haven't seen it for sale anywhere in Dublin or Cork so I got it on ebay. I highly recommend it, very tough but light, fits snugly around the phone but leaves access to the various ports and switches. Doesn't add much bulk to the phone either and provides extra grip. Well worth it!

I bought it off this lad. Interestingly enough, the cases he has for sale now state that they weren't made by incase so caveat emptor!

I have a red smeck case on mine, very small and looks fabulous. Also has a protective shield for the screen that I can still use the screen through. Highly recommended.
