Sunday stroll (first since October!!)

    At last, after the operation, some sense of normality is returning. While I still have a few months before the infection clears (avoid the Mater at all costs) I was able to ramble today for the first time in six months.

    I caught a Heron on the Boyne at the Ramparts in Navan playing with an eel:

    Thanks a million gang. I have to say it is the greatest fecking feeling of all time to be able to be out and about taking photos on a lovely day. Emotional even!

    Productivity wont be any great shakes for awhile but that doesn't matter too much. By the way you should see how many crap shots I took today. These here flatter to deceive I can tell ya!

    No. 2 is truly amazing, I'd call it a once-in-a-lifetime shot if you hadn't captured the equally spectacular scene that won you that Irish Times competition. Eels freak me out though - caught one while fishing and they are horrible to deal with.

    Great timing on the shots! I didn't know their were eels up on the boyne :confused:. What level was the river at by the way? - I'm thinking of heading up there later in the week if it's anyway decent :).

    I'd guess the Canon 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 IS L. Checking the EXIF shows 400mm f/5.6

    Absolutely breathtaking. For a newcomer they're mindblowing. That number 2 should really get some kind of award. I don't think I've ever seen anything like it.
