From what I have seen on the net about the new ford focus they are a very good car and a worthy follow up to the original focus. Check out www.whatcar.co.uk for reviews and www.honestjohn.co.uk for what to look out for.

Can we see the car ??

GF picked up a 05 Vauxhall Astra 1.7 CDTI from a Vauxhall dealer for 7.5k stg (9.9k euro) + 3.5k euro for VRT.

The car has extras you dont get down the south for the same model.

Cars are overpriced down here by far. People same to think that they can buy a brand new car and sell it a year later for an extra 1k more than they bought it for, typical Irish attitude.

Am looking for a Honda Accord 2.2 CDTI and will be heading North or over to FOW.co.uk for it.

Better spec cars, better choice, good exchange rate means better value.

+1. A mate of mine bought a two year old Passat from the UK recently, he saved about 3k however the real gain was made in terms of the quality of the car. It has much lower milage than it's Irish equivalent, it's spec is far better also. it even has some features that Irish models don't have.

If the car you're looking at is from an authorised dealer and you are getting a 2 year warranty, have a mechanic to have a good look at it but it sounds like it's a good deal.
