Laptop Wont Boot Up

Its a HP Pavillion dv6000, Win XP, wireless. I can get onto the hard drive and copy files but when i boot up, there are three beeps 'Beeeeeeeep ....... Beep Beep' and the screen is black. Any ideas on how to sort this out?

Could indicate a problem with the ram in the laptop. Try removing one stick at a time and powering on the machine and see does it boot. If it does well the stick thats not inserted is the faulty one. Ram should be accessible through a removable panel on under side of laptop.

make sure the usb ports are ok and no pins bent and earthing
