If someone had a cert for a 6.5x55 and amended it to a .17hmr and then wants to amend it back to a 6.5x55 do they have to reapply for a new cert ?

Any idea what legislation would cover this. All I could find was

That's the correct legislation. The procedure isn't specified, so if the Gardai want you to make a new application, then you must.

Some will just amend the cert, others will want the app filled out again.

when the guards say you must apply for a new cert it means means you are applying to the super to get it ammended,its an internal application in that station not a first time application.its a form for the transferring from different calibres

Down this way when they say you must apply for a new cert they want a PC20 (a fresh application) filled in and then you play the waiting game.
