Is TCM Available As Part of The Sky Variety Mix Or The Sky "Style/Culture" Mix??

    Hi there......I am subscribing to SKY and I am quite choosy about what I want. But Sky are ambiguous as to what is available in what packages- the detailed list claims that TCM is a part of the "Style and Culture" but the more vague picture representing the choices suggests it is part of the "Variety Mix"

    Anyone have any idea??

    Also......I am assuming Sky supply RTE 1, 2, TV3, TG4 and the BBC etc as given regardless of what pick you make??

    Cheers

    IT LOSER

    Thanks for the prompt reply and assistance Denis.:cool:

    Typical Sky.....all bluster and no substance. TCM is one of the movie channels I really wanted but the sh!ts have lumped "Turner Classic MOVIES" in with "STYLE AND CULTURE".....so much for "What Do YOU Want to Watch"......Movies vs Style and Culture...Hmm you decide.

    Tossas.:mad::mad:

    Cheers again....

    It was originally in Variety, but then moved to Style & Culture, but I thought it moved back to Variety a short while later after many complaints...

    It certainly did for me (I only have 2 mixes - Variety & Knowledge - and I get TCM & TCM2 again).

    Thanks for the confirmation, as their website is not up to date on this.

    from posts in digitalspy... it was a decision by sky to move TCM to the style mix. TCM did not request it nor had any power to tell them to move it back. sky and tcm got loads of complaints.... so sky saw sense and made it available again to the variety mix as well as keeping it in the style mix.

    Thats great news. I was going through the categories and now I may be able to drop a third choice- then again for 2 quid it might not be worth it. I think I can live without SKY NEWS and CNN and all that jazz, no???:p 2 choices for 22 or 3 for 24..........:confused: The main purpose of getting the Style and Culture was to avail of TCM....In fact it was the only purpose:cool:

    Skynews is available on free to air, and I believe cnn is the same and aljazeera news. If you've kids dont forget cbeebies and cbbc (possibly the best 2 channels for the kids) are also FTA.

    Apparently, TCM France is FTA on 19E (11778V), and has English audio, though I suspect it won't last too long - probably getting set for an encryption change with the end of the month.

    Cartoon Network and Boomerang also FTA on the same TP.
