Can anyone help please??? Installed mobile finder/preview and now have no sound whatsoever on iphone. Have uninstalled them again, but no joy. Everything else on phone is working, ipod, net, etc..Phone can make calls, but I cant hear anything. Seems like something has been muted along the way. Have checked the usual settings and button on side etc...but cant find the problem. Has this happened anyone else?? Driving me nuts!

Same thing happened me once, couldnt hear anything during a call but it worked on speaker phone.
The solution, power off and then back on (always fixes everything!) If still not working the just do a restore.

Try plugging in and unplugging headphones a couple of times before restoring. There's a sensor that thinks headphones are still plugged in and it probably has some dirt on it.

When the phone is at the springboard, pressing the volume buttons should bring up a box that says 'ringer.'

This might not be the problem in your case, but it has happened me once or twice and once you know about it its a doddle to fix.

Restoring in itunes is really good. When itunes sees a new iPhone it tells you an iPhone was synced with the computer before and asks if you want to sync with that profile. It restores all your notes and sms etc. I recently switched phone and moved everything over very easily.

To unlock again use iLiberty. Really, really easy.

Tried everything, no joy. How do I find iLiberty?
Reluctant to hit restore till I know what to do after:eek:

tried just 'reset all settings' on the phone? I had this problem too, afaik, that worked for me. Either that or restore. Just had to re-sync with itunes and that was it :)
