I'm sorry, I don't mean to troll here but when I saw your post with m$ in the title I laughed.

How is Microftsoft in anyway more money grubbing than Apple? I mean really you might as well write Appl€!

My interpretation would be that the $ signs is in place of the word sh*t. Or at least that is often what it is meant to reflect, rather than the money grabbing ethics of the company, I would think anyway. I could be wrong of course, perhaps in this case the OP is making a statement. Either way, aye no PC wars here! Thanks for dropping in though :) Welcome any time.

You might find your friend had had a 30 or 60 day limited version of office and it stopped working because it timed out. That being the case, you won't be able to easily reinstall it.

Indeed. You would require some basic knowledge about Mac directory structures etc in order to get around this scenario. Best thing you could do is get more information on the existing installation and what appears to be the current issue. To start with anyway.

I just say M$ because it's cool to use $ instead of s...

Lets see, here are the worst money grabbers in the world. This goes away from computer talk for awhile but will get back to computer talk at the end.

    Bank$ --- need i go into detail ?????
Pharma$eutial companies ( oh, c instead of s) --- fact. USA has a population of 280 million, 10 million are taking medication everyday they do not need. Its getting that way over here, well we don't have 10 million, but an example --- i go to the dentist alot, it's my only downfall in life, i have got everything you could imagine done with my teeth for years and years. For the past few years i have noticed the dentist likes to write a perscription out now, which was not the case a few years ago. A money racket.

Point i am making here is ( well the two above are the worst in the world, i reckon) that everybody is at it. You look at a car ad on tv and they waffle on telling you what is in it and it all sounds great, 5 years down the road and it will mean nothing. Apple and Microsoft are not the worst in world, now i am not going to make a top 20 list of money grabbers in the world, could not care, what can we do about it in the end, but i would be surprised to see Apple and Microsoft in that top 5. Could be wrong.
