    From the observer update:
-WWE called Mick Foley and wants him to start on Smackdown as an announcer/

Anything would be better than Coach and Cole. It'll be interesting to see how Foley does if he accepts though.

I wouldn't be surprised if he took it. It would only mean travelling one day a week. He wasn't a great commentator for the first One Night Stand but if it became his job then I'm sure he'd work hard to get better

    He was awful at ONS!

I'm sure he'd get good at it though. They'd have to give him a lot of freedom to say what he wanted though.

That would actually be something really cool I think. I might actually start watching Smackdown if he is announcing. I found him decent enough on the One Night Stand PPV.

If Foley rejects I think they should consider Al Snow. He's done announcing before and he knows how to put the moves over and how to do it in a funny way. Even if only to send him to ECW and ship 'The Tazz' back to Smackdown.

Makes me wonder what they plan on doing with Coachman though? Sending him to ECW maybe instead of Adamle?

It would be pretty cool having Foley on Smackdown. If they moved Coachman over to ECW to replace Adamle, that would mean we don't have to watch ECW muted on the tv anymore!!!

if he takes it, it'll probably mean he wont make it over here in October though

Ditch Coach and the newb Adamle, ship Tazz to Smackdown, and have Snow and Foley do ECW.

WWE.com has learned Mick Foley will debut on color commentary for SmackDown tonight at Backlash. At the pay-per-view, the Hardcore Legend will call the World Heavyweight Championship Match between title holder Undertaker and Edge, as well as the other SmackDown matches, alongside Michael Cole.

Foley first took the microphone at One Night Stand 2005 when he joined WWE.com's Joey Styles at the announcers' table. The three-time WWE Champion brings invaluable in-ring and out-of-the-squared circle experience to SmackDown's team

    Good news I think.

Got rid of Coach, now just to get rid of Adamle

    Yep, he's on Backlash alright

So what's the coach gonna do now? They didn't just fire him completely did they?

For a man who's taken so many knocks to the head, he's quite articulate!
Pity Backlash is proving to be sh*te though

Yep, he's quite a well spoken guy. Have you never read any of his books? I was astonished when I first read them but he really does have a great way with words

Ah Backlash isn't that bad, nothing special but it's not utterly sh!t.
I'm just curious about whether or not Shawn's knee injury was genuine or not. He didn't look happy at all, but the guy sells stuff like that so well that I can't be sure

On Backlash, I've just been reading the Observer and it doesn't seem that spectacular.

    Backlash was good.

No particularly bad matches all night, even the womens match was watchable.

There were also no particularly good matches either though.

Also, unless they're going for a Matt Hardy is crazy gimmick, his post match interview was really bad.

    Backlash was decent,
Matt Hardys speech at the end of his match was crap, Shawn did look he landed wrong on his foot and jericho looked concerned, Main event would of bein better if they all got Randy Orton knocked out first but still he put up a good fight didn't expect the result but i'm delighted, thought Cena would of won

I enjoyed Backlash - the matches got better as the night went on. I thought the fatal 4 way was very entertaining - a good action packed match. Big Show v Khali wasn't the best but then there isn't much Khali can do except head butt his oppenents etc.!

You're happy that an aging, well established star has the strap instead of one of the emerging talents who is going to carry the company for years?

    Matt Hardy - Age: 33
    MVP - Age: 34

Oh lord the king of burials is back on his throne, RAW will be unwatchable, Cena would have being much more tolerable, his last title reign while stupidly long did have some enjoyable PPV’s for **** sake anyone who can get a good match out of Khali and Lashley cant be bad! Also Cena wont squash his opponents like same compare his feud with Umanga to HHH’S and the difference is startling, Cena made Umaga look like a beast, HHH made him look a chump.

i think that gettin foley is much bette r than coach but the problem is it kind of gets rid of the whole "one commentator up for the babyfaces and the other is up for the heels" mantra the wwe has gone by for a while now!

It hasn't been like that on Raw in a good few years and it's never been like that on ECW. The only time in the last few years was with JBL at times. Before him Tazz wasn't on the heels side

Coach will probably appear on Raw tonight as the new general manager. I reckon Regal will give up that position now and focus on his newly acquired title!

I really hope not, as gm and kotr the oppertunities for regal to screw people over and abuse his position are almost limitless, the heel heat he could get out of this could be fantastic

True - I just have a feeling Coach will become the new GM and possible he and McMahon will cause a lot of difficulties for Triple H etc.???

ah tazz did it for a while, i remember a time when he would disagree with cole as often as he could! (not the whole wcw/ecw invasion time-there was another time)
