    Guys i need help please!

I bought an Epson Stylus DX4000 printer/scanner in Tesco a few months ago and cannot get it to print:(

Every time I click on print it attempts to start, then 'communication error' pops up on the screen.
It will scan items and print them no problem ...it just wont print off anything from the computer???

    Any ideas?

Unplug the USB cable and then insert it again, see if that makes any difference.

I tried a different usb cable and still didnt work.

Full list under 'Printers' is -

    'Add Printer'
    'Capture Fax BVRP'
    'Epson Stylus DX4000 Series'
'Lexmark Z22' (my old printer...which still works fine?!)

Try uninstalling the drivers and then reinstall after a reboot.

to remove the printer/uninstall and reinstall
    1 Start->Control Panel->Printers
2 right click on printer and select delete (maybe delete the other one you are not using )
3 before reboot remove printer cable from pc
    4 reboot
    5 insert cable for printer
6 run install from cd that came with the printer
Normally installs end with a print a test page so see if that works. Also some printers can somtimes have an offline mode on the printer so make sure you dont have that on.

If that doesnt work check the printer website for the latest version of the driver and make sure you have the latest and greatest for your OS.
Normally driver updates are an exe that you download and then run.

    best of luck
