    Well so far...
Vista and XP work fine together with the help of EasyBCD

But when I either try and point easybcd at ubuntu or use neogrub with the menu.lst from ubuntu grub itself... it all goes to ****e...

the pointing at ubuntu brings up bootmgr missing and the neogrub just sends the whole system towards vista.. despite the fact that it shouldn't! Very annoying any thoughts?

If it's anything more than a dual boot I'd consider using VMWARE.

Thanks for the quick reply. Luckily enough I manage to get it running.. but thank you all the same for the link to vmware.. I may well consider that as a option in the future. It sounds pretty class.
