    Hi all

Does anyone know what the procedure is for deferring a place on an MA programme within the English department? Is it for very serious issues like a major illness or can you accept a place and then defer for a year without any major reason? Do they accept this or is it frowned upon?

From what I know, it seems that it's only in the most severe of cases. It's generally not done.
