Great, another object lesson in how to talk for half an hour without actually saying anything...guy should be secretary general of the UN..hope Dunphy gets into rottweiler mode and gets under his skin...

Listening to Dunphy after the Barcelona - Man U game on Wednesday, I have finally lost any last strand of respect for him as a broadcaster. This will be a nonsensical interview (and whatever Dunphy knows about Football, his Rugby knowledge is scant. He's even been less than complimentary about the game at times if I remember correctly).
Dunphy is now a caricature of himself - the Rottweiler you speak of. I expect a trite, shallow argument about EOS's reign as coach, and a few ramblings about his 4-year contract, at best.

I thought he was interesting enough.

Anyone else think he is the best man to be Irish coach after the next two? Yeh, i know we dont even know who they are yet. But I still think he is one of the best rugby thinkers out there.
A few years away in a different environment, learn more, cut ties with the current irish scene - then back in 8 or 10 years time to do it again only better; Grand slam and finally a world cup effort that gets somewhere.

To be fair he openly admits this. It was a fairly soft interview though.

My thoughts on the interview are:
    - Generally don't like the show as I don't like Dunphy
    - O'Sullivan got an easy ride as Dunphy openly admits he doesn't really follow rugby so we weren't going to get hard questions
    - He glossed over the question on lack of depth - he more or less said he realised after the Italy game in Ravenhill that the first 15 needed game time during the WC, what about all those wasted Autumn Internationals.
    - The bit that got me was his story about the Irish journalists cheering when France scored a try while playing against Ireland, if this happend it is wrong.

    Thanks for link.
Regardless of how I think of Dunphy, I think that was an excellent interview.

Somehow I'm not surprised he was only an average student. ;)
