I think someone put up a pic of this same field already ha between carlow and Kilkenny but I was passing by myself and had a new polarising filter in my car so decided to try it.

Anyhow, I am sure my effort aint as good as the other as I can never seem to get the landscape thing right but thought I would stick up a shot and maybe take peoples comments on board and then when passing the field next (which will be tomorrow btw ha ha!) I can have another go!

Canon EOS 400d with kit lens at wide angle lens. Hama polariser although tbh dont really know what to do with this and when I turned it it didnt seem to have an effect, perhaps sun was too high in sky (was 2pm and I was facing west). Converted with Bibble and adjustment layer only to boost sky.

All comments on composition and processing welcome!

    Sorry for rambling!

Nice punchy colours. The pole is an integral part of the shot, leave it in!

Yep, i like the pole...kind of brings the shot together.

I'd be against this also, if he didn't want the pole in it a few steps left would of sorted it (clones wires then,)

but here the pole is the best element to the photo imo,

If i had to improve it, i'd go a little lower angled or a shallower DoF, say first first row of flowers OOF

can we see what it'd look like without the pole? i think it would be a little nicer if the pole was further down in the pic and further in - maybe that wasn't possible, i'll see what it'd look like without the pole after and post it up if thats ok
    :)

Lovely punchy colours in that one. I caught one myself out Ballyboughil way, very windy on the night so couldnt use slow shutter. Shot at ISO 1600 on a 5d

    Thanks for the comments!

I take peoples point on the pole, although I did put it there on purpose to break up the shot.

When I am next passing the field I might try as suggested lower angle and shallow depth of field!

Get the pun, field ha ha

Without it there is no focal point for the picture,
    better with imo
