Rogan won recent Prize fighter competition in UK, he is trained by john breen does anybody know his amateur background as he quite old now but hasnt got too many fights under his belt. Was he a late starter to the fight game?

He was a very late starter. He was the subject once of a BBC3 (I think) documentary series where they followed a different sports person round each week. I'm not sure why they picked him but anyway he was fighting in the Ulsters and got to the final and got beat that year. In the programme he was then being trained by one of the Hawkins so I assume he was with Holy Trinity ABC.
A couple of years later I know he won an Ulster and All Ireland intermediate title. I'd say it was about 2002 and I'm nearly sure he was with Immaculata ABC then. I think he turned pro after that.
He comes under the 'gentle giant' category - as long as you don't cross him. If you do then it's throw punches first, ask questions later.
They are a well-known fanily round west Belfast. (His brother Ger was on the Antrim team that beat Offaly in the 1989 All Ireland hurling semifinal and was selector to Dinny Cahill for anyone who follows hurling)
He does a bit of acting too. You'll see him at the minute in the U105 radio staion ad on UTV. He is the convict having a sing to himself at the end of the ad.

Rogan vs Skelton is on and its for Skeltons commonwealth title but not the European which he recently won.
Why is this? surely Rogan is ranked high enough?

He wasn't ranked in the November rankings but has beaten the #11 Harrison since then, I'd assume the EBU will be putting him into December's rankings but maybe they won't.

Would be a shame if he didn't get to fight for the European title.

Warren said something like if Rogan beat Skelton the title becomes vacant...

Sounds like they are just playing the system.
