Stairs carpet - need to move it half a step

My carpet on the stairs is starting to show signs of wear. When it was put in the installer said that when this eventually happens, that he left an extra length tucked in at the top under the carpet on the 2nd last step at teh top and I just need to pull that out and re-lay it by half a step.

Would this be easy to do or should I get in a pro?

Any idea how much it would cost?

Anyone got any recommendations in Naas?
