I dont think you can configure a 1525 with blu-ray drive. There's not dedicated graphics card (only integrated Intel® Graphic Media Accelerator X3100) on 1525 which is required for blu-ray drives.

funny that, have the 1525 in my saved items there with the Blu-ray writer on it.

so it would be better to go with an XPS 1530 with the dedicated memory if i was going for the Blu-ray?
the graphics card in the XPS would be a:
NVIDIA® GeForce™ Go 8600M GT with 256MB dedicated graphic memory

that would be 1218 inc VAT delivered on EPP and 10% discount.
that blu-ray writer is 390 extra.

Atm I don't think it's worth the extra cost and the cost of blank disks is still high.
Save yourself the €400 now and but one later when they get cheaper and pop it in.

think you are right kaizersoze. might get the XPS 1530 with a better video card, better screen and the likes. will leave the blu-ray idea until next year.

on the XPS's they come with a DVD slot drive. can these be changed to upgrade to a Blu-ray drive or could it be a lot of hassle?
suppose you could always go with an external blu-ray drive.
