Don't forget your left big toe

Jesper Parnevik was among a group of players one shot behind the joint leaders, Mathew Goggin, Ryan Moore and Eric Axley after the first round of the EDS Byron Nelson Championship in Texas.

Parnevik snapped out of a year-long slump after an unlikely swing tip from a friend.

"He's a complete hack monster but he called me last night and said he played the round of his life, and I asked him what he did and he said he found a secret," Parnevik revealed.

"It was really a stupid thing, the way he had his left big toe at impact. It should be pointed a little bit upwards. It worked very well today. We'll see Sunday if it lasts more than one day."

Parnevik has been playing so badly this year you can hardly blame him for listening to a 20-handicapper.

"The way I hit the ball today was a big boost to my confidence because I pulled a lot of shots off that I have not pulled off lately," he continued.
