    Hi,

Just wondering does anyone know when Vodafone or any irish mobile providers will be offering this phone?

Its quite hard to say, I'm hazarding another few months yet as the Sony Ericsson K850i has only been released on vodafone now,its release date to operators was in October last year. Thats six whole months between the phone being available and actually getting into the hands of Irish customers.

Ever hear of the k810? It was a facelift of the K800i with some software and casing improvements. Did it make it to the irish market? Hell no, the networks continued to push the k800i (and i'm not slagging it, its damn solid handset) which they charged quite high prices for, whilst probably getting the handsets at lower price due to their replacement of the k810. In fact there's still loads of them in the stockroom in the shop that i work.

I'd also refer to the precedent of the W880i. This had a release date of feb last year, but it took till around half way through june before coming available to Irish customers on the three network at around €200 on most midrange tariffs. Other networks followed latter if i remember correctly.

In light of precedent I'd say june or so at silly money. If you want one now why not take the plunge, by a sim free one online and free yourself of network locks and stupid crippling of handsets by network customised software.
