So, Bertie had a rant about this the other day, easy to slag him off but he prob does have a point.

    1. 17 years in service.
    2. 11,000 Hours
    3. No jacks (Seriously?)
    4. A few break downs
    5. Hit by lightning TWICE.

Is 11,000 hours a lot for what is essentially a non-commercial aircraft thats 17 years old?

Might as well put it in the buy & sell...or adverts.ie, sure who would buy it :D

    The gulfstream HAS a jacks.......

Does it being hit by lightning make it a bad plane?

11000 hours is extremely low utilisation for a 17 year old aircraft. A few "breakdowns" in 17 years is not bad either.

I've lost what little respect I ever had for the man. Not only does he turn out to be as corrupt as the rest of them. He has the temerity to whinge about the aircraft used to transport him and his little coterie around. Never occurring to him that the Air Corps is woefully underequipped for it's role save in one area. It's VIP fleet. Three aircraft for his personal benefit, not to mention helicopters which he doesn't like to fly in cos they're scary. Poor baba!

They say power corrupts, well that's true. We'll see how likes slumming it with the rest of us now he's lost his access to the jets.

That only equates to about or less than 2 hours flying a day.

Typical utilisation for a VIP aircraft.
