Tax in new job

    Hi all,

    I'm sorry in advance if this seems like a stupid question but i left my previous job last september and i'm starting a new one on monday,

    I was just wondering what i need to do so i dont get emergency tax, i was told that my p45 from the last job is no good as this is a new tax year,

    All help is greatly appreciated.

    You need a tax certificate. The revenue will send you one if you phone them.
    Your employer will give you two months to produce a tax certificate before all your pay is taxed at 41%.
