    Quick question really...started working this month and the company pay by the month...when generally do companies pay you, last friday of the month or what?

    23rd, 25th, 30th, 31st, last Thursday, Friday of the month... the list goes on.

    I once worked for a company which literally paid you every four weeks, which as there is more than 4 weeks in any given month meant pay day floated all over the place.

    Why don't you simply ask, OP? You're new, these questions would be expected of you.

    A lot of larger companies do this. Upside is you get paid 13 times a year instead of 12 :D Downside is when all your bills are monthly you end up all confused :(

    Yup, and the company I worked for kept messing up the tax for various reasons when they went to 4 week gaps. People were getting ver- ryyy angry so they went to 12.

    This being paid monthly is a pain if your just starting the job from being on the dole :/

    Yup, it was a pain in 2008, and is still a pain now. Don't think we need to dig up the thread for it, though.
