I'm looking for some good shop with imported wines in Galway.

Usually I bought in Tesco. They have pretty good selection but staff are not that professional about wines (or i asked wrong person :p).

    Any recommendations please? :)

Think there's a place called "The Wine Buff" beside Salthill Garda Station

That wine place besides Kappa Ya sushi on Middle street. I got me some quality stuff in there y'all.
If you can't find it try McCambridges on Shop street.

    "The Vineyard" - Quay street

Isn't the Vineyard being renovated at the moment, or is it finished?

Middle Street is Thomas Woodberrys, and then you have several Harvest shops dotted around the city.

    +1 for Woodberrys, good selection.

There is one upstairs in the cheese shop down past the market, the name escapes me right now.... Maybe someone else knows where I'm on about?

Sheridans. They also have a bar down by the docks where you can probably pick up some good bottles. can be pricey though.

Cases on the Tuam road behind Suites Supreme have an excellent selection.
Harvest are also quite good and have shops in Woodquay, Beside Cuba, and across from the Firestation.

I had no idea there's so many!! :o

I became a fan of wines after my trip to Italy. :) Thanks a lot!! Just hope the prices are not too excessive.

I'm a wine buff and have shopped in them all.

Sheridan's is excellent and there's plenty to choose from in McCambridges's.

Harvest are a tad mainstream... and expensive I find. They don't really deal in much mid-price speciality wines.

Woodberry's on Middle St is the best of the lot. Uber-friendly staff and really decent prices (many are cheaper than Tesco). Ask for Sandra. Great Italian selection as well.

That's the shop in the Western House building. Wine Buff is pricey enough but they seem to 'talk the talk'.

Cases on Tuam Road is massive. I was there last week and I was very impressed.

Where abouts is that? Open to the public obviously? Is it only fancy wines they do? I need to buy a few cases of Rosé for the GF for the summer :D

If you're heading out of town at any stage, there's a shop in Clonbur with a range of over 400 wines, ranging from €15 to €1,000 a bottle.

Can't remember the name of it now...

If you're heading that way at all, Probus Wines in Oughterard is excellent, ask for the owner (Paul I think), he really knows his stuff and can recommend good wines to suit any budget. I've bought a couple of mixed cases there that he put together for me and they were super wines
