I have the Komplett one you mentioned above and I think it's a great system and I have my PS3 hooked up to it via an optical cable and the sound is high quality!

This is well worth another 50 euro ,http://www.pixmania.com/ie/uk/541205/art/sony/ht-ddw890-home-cinema-sys.html

Works out at just 300 with postage ,loads of connections and the sound is good for a budget system.

To work with your ps3 to get surround sound ,the system must have an optical input , thats input not output ,

Now none of the specs on those systems above list an optical input , before you buy make sure it has one or its no good to you , have a look in the shop or whatever , if your buying online and it doesnt say it has an optical input your taking a big risk , if it doesnt its useless for the PS3. And as its not listed in the specs you will have no comeback !

And be very careful with model numbers , for instance with say a Samsung HT-X30 , the addition of a single letter in the model number can indicate models with or without optical in and so on , watch out for this.

I'm kinda surprised nobody mentioned the Z5450 and Z5500 yet.

i have read a few reviews about these and there seems to be an issue with the fuse in the sub woofer blowing the whole time so that is kinda putting me off.

http://www.pixmania.com/ie/uk/541205/art/sony/ht-ddw890-home-cinema-sys.html?form=39#tech-specs - this seems to be winning at the moment because there are 2 optical inputs. one for ps3 and the oter for sky plus. doesn't look like the prettiest thing but i dont mind that too much.

I bought the sony myself ,I'm happy enough with it. I had a yamaha surround system a few years back and the sound was very muted.

The sony system comes with a microphone so it can auto calibrate itself ,but I found manually doing it the best. With so many speakers it's very easy to get the sound right :)

The speakers are a dark brown finish ,not bad looking. The amp itself is big ,but when you look at all the connections on the back .It's easy to appreciate why it's so big:pac:

One of the reasons I bought this one ,was because at 300 euro it's easy to sell on if needs be.

I bought that SOny system off Pixamania in January. The only downside to it, is its size. The amp and speakers are all massive. APart from that, it's a great piece of kit. I play COD4 a lot with it, and my sitting room sounds like a warzone!

As far as size goes , once you move out of the DVD player/amp combo beginners toys .....all good amps are that size , theres no getting away from it , and the further up the hi fi quality ladder you get , the bigger the amps get.

I have that very system, sounds great. the two optical inputs are great for ntl and the ps3. of course ntl is only stereo which is a pity. i have a pc connected to another input. ps3 sounds amazing, COD4 sounds so much better with surround sound. I got some cheap speaker stands from argos as well, does the job.

I'd have no problem recommending that system, great kit for the price.
