Hello,

Trying to create a banner for a website in Photoshop and want to have it as two images blended into each other and then but a different colour shade on top of the image like this example - http://www.asapseo.com/images/M_header01.jpg

Hopefully I have explained myself above ok as I'm fairly new to working with Photoshop.

Layer masks and the gradient tool are your friend!
Have a look here:
http://www.photoshopcafe.com/tutorials/blend/blend.html

Then use a photo filter adjustment layer to add the colour cast.
