I resigned from work last week. Can you still qualify for Jobseekers Benefit if you resign? Whats the best way to avoid all the hassle?

You may be disallowed for up to 9weeks for leaving work on your own accord. It depends on the reason you resigned.

does anyone know what reasons are accepted for resigning? Do they take any legal steps or anything if I make a serious implication.. e.g racism, bullying?

Yes, they do take the reason into account. If your taking Legal action or further action it will help your case.

if you take legal action does that effect future employment?

Like unfair dismissal? You should look up www.entemp.ie regarding employment rights etc. You should check out www.welfare.ie regarding the conditions for jobseeker's benefit - there is a section in the guideline regarding disqualification from payment if a person has left his/her job.
