Have a hole approx 2" in diamiter in a flat roof felt. Have seen different products but was wondering if anyone had done a similar repair recently and how did it turn out. Was thinking of cutting a foot x foot piece of felt and getting some tar like adheasive to stick it over the offending hole. Is this over kill or would a simple paint on type of tar on its own do the job?

    Thanks

you use torch on felt, cut the required size and apply using a blow lamp

Is it a hole or a tear?
If its a tear I would "tar" it back together and then patch it with some more felt and tar.

If you have access to a blow lamp/torch and torch on felt then by all means use it, but I reckon tar is easier (but just as messy, so wear old clothes!)

As it happens, Lidl have a torch on offer today that should be suitable for €45.
