looks all right to me, if you retouched the photograph maybe a comparision with the original might be interesting.

    TYR,

I get a problem for one or two reasons. Firstly although I do some portrait photography, it tends not to be formalized. You will need to bear that in mind when looking at my comments.

Compositionally I have some problems with the photograph. I don't particularly like the angles and I don't like the impression I get from the model's eyes. All told, it's a photograph that is just leaving me purely cold; it's screaming snapshot at me.

From a processing point of view, obviously without seeing the orig, I can't tell exactly what you've done. I question, however, the effort going into everything else if you're going to leave the flash reflection in her eyes. I do think you've done a super job on touching up her face, however; I am sure she is beautiful but her skin comes across as utterly flawless in the shot. Well done.

    ____________

As a general note I would, however, say that I have some difficulty with your objective in posting this. If, as Fionn says, it's to get feedback on the processing, then you really should either show us the original, or at least outline what you did. I have serious, serious problems providing feedback of any description for a photograph which is posted with as little information as you have posted. "What do you think of this" really is not enough for me to work with and to be honest, I don't get what C&C you're looking for - whether it's photographic, or just that your girlfriend looks stunning. TBH I get it's more the latter than the former.

The more you provide in C&C posts the more you will get out of posting. You didn't get a lot of feedback at this stage, and I suspect that's because you give us too little to work with. For the future, it might be worth thinking about that.

I think its ok. To my taste the subject's skin is 'milky' to the point of being overdone. I think you reach a certain point when post-processing where it is no longer believable and at such a point you've probably crossed a line that shouldn't have been crossed.

There's a certain 'dark quality' to the final image. I'm sure she's a beautiful lady and perhaps the desired effect is to produce something of a 'gothic' theme in which case you've succeeded reasonably well.

I agree with a lot of calina's comment however would disagree with processing the eyes to remove the catchlight. I think it would leave them lifeless and flat. Again, this may be only my opinion but i do think catch lights in the eyes will add excitement to an image.

Your original light source which I'm assuming to have been off camera has caused what I would consider an undesirable shadow below the subjects chin. Unless a desired effect, if you were shooting again i'd attempt to remove such shadow.

Overall, its quite nice - there's obviously a few areas I would consider that you could improve if you were to take it again. But, its nice and i'm sure something that you and your girlfriend will be pleased with.

    Cheers.
