Bought The Lidl Camping Satellite Kit - "no signal"
    can anyone help !!!!
I purchased the Lidl satellite kit yesterday.
    - All is connected and I'm getting "no signal".
    - "signal intensity" = 80%
    - "signal quality" = 14%.
    What am I doing Wrong ? confused.gif
I disconnected the dish from the Lidl Receiver.
    - "Signal intensity" = 0%
    - "Signal Quality" = 14%
    - What is this telling me?
    - Is there a faulty LNB?
    - Is there a faulty cable?
Have now connected the Lidl receiver to the House Sky Dish
    - Have now connected the Lidl satellite receiver to the house Sky Dish and picked up all
    the Astra 28.2 channels.
    - Excellent Quality Picture.
    - "Signal quality" is far superior.
    - We now know the Lidl Receiver is working
    - Living in Kildare, Would that make a difference?
    - The Lidl Dish is much smaller than the SKY dish.
    - Does Size matter? tongue.gif
    - Haven't lost me sense of humour.

Sounds like your Lidl dish is not properly alligned or possibly a bad connection on an F-connector...if the F-connector was allready on the cable supplied then it may need to taken off and re-connected making sure it is done right-good luck

the dish is very very small so you need to be very precise (more than usual) in aligning it.

Having the exact same issues with my Lidl kit, its the standard one not the camping one, so dish is slightly bigger.. Signal intensity = 80% Signal strength = 14% when it is all connected up. Signal strength shows always as 14% if it is connected to the dish or not!! Have no idea what is happening. Have checked and re checked the F connector. It is definitely ok. Dont know what to do now . .. .

Not so - a smaller dish needs less precision in alignment than a larger dish. Smaller dish provides less signal, though.

As you have received good signals from your SKY dish and lnb/cable, then the receiver is ok.
Do you mean when you say you have connected it to the "standard" Lidl dish, that you are using the dish, lnb and cable that comes with the mains operated Lidl sat receiver? I assume this combination works ok with the "standard" Lidl receiver but does not work with the 12v camping version?
It seems to point to a problem with the 12v receiver not driving the lnb properly (assuming that you are pointing the dish correctly!), but it's a bit strange that the SKY dish is working ok with the receiver but the others are not.

Tony i havent tried it with any other dishes. Think that was some other poster. I think there is a problem with the receiver. As the signal quality is always at 14%, thats for all satellites i scanned. And this 14% is showing if the dish is connected or not. So take out the coax from the back of the receiver and Astra showing at 14% still. Signal strength varies from 50 to 80% if i move the dish, but signal quality always at 14%?? Was going to upgrade the box with the firmware from the Silvercrest website, but i dont have an RS232 to USB cable. Think i will just bring the receiver back and get a swap out. I will borrow my friends good receiver 1st and test it on my dish, just in case.

Below about 30% the quality reading is not sensible.

"Quality" only applies if you have a "tuned in" transponder (and channel). Transponders are different on different satellites.

Also if you point dish directly at a nearby building you can get 70% Signal (Heat!).

A movement of more than 1 degree and you have no signal. Move 3 degrees and you are on a different satellite (about 5 or 6 stronger ones of 22 possible in ireland).

You need to have the right satellite/channel/transponder selected in Menu and be on correct satellite in Sky before the Quality metering works.

To reiterate what's been said before, the receivers are fine but your dish alignment isn't.

hi i got one of these my self, super little dish picking up astra 1, even hotbird. It did take a bit of moving the dish up and down and over and back to pick up a signal. Have a look at other dishes in ther area it will give u a rough idea of what direction to point it in. As said above your probably getting no signal because your not aligned with a satellite. Have someone lookingat the tv while u move the dish, ever so slightly a bit or lot of patience should have u up and running. Good luck

Apols - was intended for brianmcs - the OP, who actually received a good signal from his Astra dish. His receiver was obviously ok, but his pointing of the camper dish was not (or something) :D:D

You must be thinking of one of these.
    Dish
"Ideal for sheilds, stomp, rain deflectors for cctv, serving trays, parabolic reflectors or just lids for dustbins";)

    Hi,
I am wondering if a solution has been found from the people who couldn't connect their Lidl sat dish to a satellite? I have exactly the same problem, signal quality of 14%, and no increase whatsoever, no matter what way I move the dish.

    Thanking you in advance
