This game is cancelled due to lack of interest.
Thanks to anyone that did bother to txt or ring me. It goes back to the problem that if its any more than 10 mins from dublin you can forget about it no matter how much value there is.

    Alright Damien,

I think thats a bit harsh. You put a post up at 8.49pm last night and cancelled the game at 6.44 today. Thats hardly enough time for people to check it out, ask questions etc. Half the posters on here were probably out when you posted it last night, and not home from work by the time you cancelled it. I'd also imagine that 99% of the posters have no idea who you are, which wont help.

I'd recommend that you give a bit of notice when running a sat. Listen to feedback, answer questions and reassure people. I cant imagine too many people travelling to Monaghan on a Sunday for a game, knowing its a 2 hour drive home afterwards when more than likely, people will be in work Monday. Plus if it didnt get the numbers, or even go ahead, its a 4 hour round journey wasted for a small buyin game.

Think you need to sell it better and try drum up some interest. Give it time and gl with the venture.

    Tony

It's a shame because the game looked good

30 min blinds 10k starting stack

Would have had lots of play

Yeah it did look good. 10k stack and 30 min blinds is always nice and plenty of play for your money. Wouldn't have been able to make it myself because of lack of transport, otherwise i'd have liked to venture out

Its a pain in the hole with work Al..cant seem to catch any sats when i'm off and it always ends up costing me €50 or €60 on taxis if i need to get across and back, so i factor that in when i'm playing a sat, and when i do that....no sats look like good value!!

But i'll try get one or 2 in online before it kicks off. GL tomorrow..i'm off for a few beers :pac:

    Damo,

You need to plan these things weeks in advance, putting up a tourney and cancelling within 24 hours is madness. Post up your next one at least 6 weeks in advance and plan it out

    My 2 cents

    Fran

TONY thanks for your post and your point is well taken on board .but i sent out at least 40 txt,s on monday to my mailing list and not one reply,to say yes or no, accept for fran . i had rang JP on tuesday about it and he said that he would post it for me, but by wed evening it wasnt up and i stuck it up myself . i suppose i just got a bit annoyed and cancelled cos i had spent hours doing posters and driving around . However if there is ten or more people interested in playing just let me know by saturday eve. and i will gladly go ahead with. once again tony thanks for your comments and i will see ya soon.

    Hi Damien,

Just quickly in JP's defense here mate, He has been without internet for the last number of weeks and has been unable to post details about the Masters, Which is really annoying for him atm.

He was very grateful that you offered to do this sat for him and hope's it will still manage to go ahead, the structure looked great btw

If you have any questions for JP you can call him or post here and I will pass it onto him

    Thanks

    Alan
