    Got a glimpse of Mike Tyson at a k1 event saying he'd fight in MMA. I've also seen some posts claiming he signed a contract with a promoter to fight in pride / k1. My question is, what came of this? I'm presuming nothing. Also, any word on Lee Murray, the british fighter, is he still in hiding in morocco?

    He supposedly signed with Pride back in 2006 when they did an event in USA, however nothing ever came of it , and I think most people wrote it off as a publicity stunt.

    Of course Pride is no more, so likely watever alliance was there is gone, as it doesn't seem to have been taken up by Dana White

    As regards Lee Murray, haven't heard any news on him

    Last thing I could find on murray was that he was in a morrocan jail awaiting extradition. Pity he made such bad decisions regarding stealing £92 million. By all accounts he had alot of talent and I would have loved to see him fight Tito Ortiz and Anderson Silva (again). Anyone know what drove him too it? Anything other than a share of £92 million that is, was he just a scummer or what?

    Murray was in trouble a few times before and was never exactly the sort of advertisement for MMA you'd want your parents to see. Still, I can imagine a lot of people thinking, "share of £92 million? I might just take a chance there", scummer or not.

    I'd imagine the Tyson thing is another publicity stunt or maybe an exhibition bout. To be honest though even if it's a genuine fight, it'll still be a circus. I feel sorry for Tyson, genuinely. He could be a nasty sort of guy but the people around him really betrayed him, and worse still, he picked them and others like them time and time again.

    I'm not sure if it was a complete publicity stunt. Tyson was banned from boxing in Japan so he could only be on a PRIDE show overseas. I remember there was a lot of talk of him fighting on a show in China, but that show never came about. He was arrested on drugs offences shortly after the PRIDE US show in 2006 and I think he went into rehab, so there's a chance he knew he'd fail a drug test and be suspended yet again

    If PRIDE had put a China show together though, I think it would have happened as they'd have given Tyson an easy match and a big paycheck
