in europe its a room with two single beds, in america its usually a room with two double beds. A twin in a hostel is usually a bunkbed

A twin will always refer to two beds in a room.

a double room is a room with just one double or one kingsize bed

a triple room could mean a room with a double and a single bed or it could be a room with three beds, it depends on the hotel in question
