Cheap MP3 for travel

I'm never up there with technology and I seem to be one of the last people to have bought an mp3 player. I'll be travelling around South America for a few months so I'd like to have some kind of music playing thingy with me. Obviously I don't want anything too expensive as I don't want to be carrying much of value if possible. I have loads of CDs that I'd like to load onto it, not really bothered about downloading things. (If I catch the bug I can buy something better once I get back). Something that would keep me sane on those long bus journeys. So, any suggestions? Or do I just go to argos and buy the cheapest one there?

Sony A818... its about 90 pounds sterling off play.com.. you might get it cheaper in a sony store - I dont know - but it's an excellent DAP if you can get it on the cheap.

Just music, not bothered about radio/video. When I come back I might look into getting something like that, but for the trip, just something not too big that can hold a decent amount of music.

They used to....so that's a pity... doesn't really make a difference though as I was providing an example...

Anyhoo the A818 is still fairly priced in sony stores i think (€120 last I saw - 1 month ago) and I'm sure we can get some recommendations from people on where to buy... ebay is always an option too.

If you wanna go super cheap, but still of good quality, you can buy a Meizu M6 or M3 online...

    Hey,

Check out this thread in the Bargain Alerts forum:

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055279090

The creative Zen's are nice enough devices and if you just want something to take along and not worry about losing on the trip then the refurb could be just the thing for you.

At the prices they have listed you could probably even get two....just in case ;)

    Hope that helps,

    R.
