Could anyone tell me some different kinds of directional antennas?? I need my antenna to only pick up a signal coming from a certain direction so the thinner the beam the better. Could i make one by covering the antenna in a reflective box and cutting a slit in the box? I am working with 433Mhz rf. Thanks

Well there is the standard omni directional antenna, then there is the yagi which is very directional and works in the direction pointed, also parabolic antennas which tend to have a wider field of view then the yagi but still directional. And there are other variations on those.

A quick google works wonders, e.g. http://www.rfsolutions.co.uk/acatalog/433MHz.html there is a good selection to show you what's available.

What type are you currently using? Is it for telemetry data transmissions if it's at 433Mhz?
