    HI,

I did the jealous wall duathlon. It was hilly! Anyway has anyone seen the results anywhere? Or some pictures? As usual I was billy-no-mates and didnt have any family there to take some snaps for me to remember.

    Thanks!
    Stephen

I had intended to travel down to Mullingar and do this on Saturday but was put off by the gail force winds blowing on Saturday morning - yeah, I'm a wimp, I know!

What was the event like? Was the venue a good one?? Planning on doing the tri-to-beat-cancer there in July and looks like a great venue.

The organisation, midlandtri was fantastic. Really well planned, lunch voucher, good marshalling, good transition.

The course...well. For the run its a lovely course in the grounds, scenic, sheltered but HILLY. Coming down a hill and then there was a shap turn that more or less left me hopping on one leg trying to not end up in a bush... like in a cartoon. Of course, wheres theres a down hill, theres an uphill. The run up to transition was really steep.

The cycle was good, unfoutunatly theres a big open straight and it was straight into the headwind.

All in all, I really enjoyed it, and Id do it again.

yeah i found it good too. the one thing i didnt like was the 2 laps of the course for the cycle. i dont like laps. that wind was crazy up that straight! it was like climbing a hill the whole way up it with no end in sight! the run was great i thought. i really liked the run legs. nice to get a different type of course. The results are up somewhere. I cant find them now but i remember hitting a link to an old race results and it actually brought me to that oen last weekend!!

Thanks! I just got it. I came 25th :) Slowly but surely Im getting better lol

I can see I had a fair R1 and fair-good bike but let myself down a bit on the second run. Maybe I should have taken more water onboard...

    Much appreciated!
