Dunno is this the best place to ask this but if my mum has an irish passport and irish parents but was born in UK 45 years ago is she entitled to a UK passport, if so am i also entitled to a UK passport and then if i have a UK passport does this allow me to enter Australia and work/live unlike being irish which only permits us to a 1 year working visa?

I thought UK passport holders just got twice the time on their default holiday visa time, 6 months rather than 3 months, for Oz and New Zealand. Not sure that there is any extra allowance for working visas or residency though other than they might be slightly easier to obtain with UK citizenship.

You can't just move to Oz fulltime to work if you have a UK passport - you still have to apply for a permanent visa..
