Hi, I work in a net cafe, recently 2 of our pcs have started acting the sack. When they are booted up they say atapi incompatible or such like on the black loading screen, in the bios the hard drives don't show up, i've tried altering jumper settings/changing hdd with ones that definitely work/leaving out the dvd drive/changing ide cables round all to no avail.

Any suggestions as to what the problem could be? I can usually sort out problems myself but this one has me stumped....

if you can't see the HDD then it's not a windows problem

check the BIOS settings , try going backup to setup defaults

Try the HD in one of the working PCs setting the disk to be used as a slave, if it works then you may need to do as Capt'n suggested and restore to defaults or you could try flashing the BIOS. Hope you get it sorted.
