    Hey,

Myself and my girlfriend are going interrailing in western europe for the month of july. We sort of have a general route planned out:

    Barcelona - 5 days,
Travel accros to italy via nice/monte carlo (2-3 days),

In italy we want to visit florence, modena, milan & venice,

Then we plan to make our way to berlin to meet some family, stoping along the way in switzerland or austria and various places in germany, theres a DTM race on in the nurburgring on the 27th(I hope to make this).

I am just looking for information that would help us on our trip.

Is this travel plan reasonable for 1 month? (dont want to have to rush around)

Is accommodation easy to find or should we book in advance of our trip?

How much money would we be recommended to bring?

Should I bring credit cards or cash (which is safest?)

What type of backpacks should we bring?

How much clothes? (are there cleaning facilities in the hostels/accom?)

Whats the story with train tickets? Are these: http://www.interrailnet.com/2_buy_now the tickets we should get?

Are there extra charges for booking trains?/Are we guaranteed seats?

And finally where would anyone recommend to see along the way?

Sorry for the huge amount of questions, its our first time doing this so we need to know as much as we can!

    Cheers:)

Barcelona is definetely worth it, beware the pickpockets!

Accomodation is easy with hostelworld, just book a day or two before you leave. You need a credit card though.

Need about 50e a day in W Eur

Put most on the card and withdraw in 200-300e chunks in local atms

    60-70l backpack

You can was clothes in a lot of hostel. Bring lots of t-shirts, shorts, socks and underwear, dont bother with jeans, too heavy.

Your probably best to get the interrail global one month pass, think its €309

Only really need to book longer distance night trains where there is a supplement of normally a tenner (but you don't pay for a hostel that night!). If you book your guaranteed, otherwise you mightn't get/be on the floor!

    Enjoy!
